Confd and eXR Questions

I have few quick questions regarding Confd which are as follows:

1) In eXR (Evolved XR) we can integrate 3rd Party App. Is it possible to integrate Confd as 3rd Party App and convert XR CLI to Yang? Note: 3rd Party App means platform has open interfaces/APIs to integrate any Tools/Apps inside platform.

2) Is there a way to get Tail-f team support to implement Confd daemon/App and support it rather than platform team?

3) My understanding regarding confD is; Once we have confd infra set it up inside platform, all platform supported features/mibs equivalent yang models will be available for users. is that a correct notion?

Thanks,

Ahmed

IOS XR have a strategy for supporting NETCONF/YANG, and IOS XR 5.3.0 delivered the first 21 YANG models. The NC/Y implementation is not based on ConfD. Subsequent IOS XR releases will incrementally add more and more YANG models, e.g. 5.3.1 will add another 20 or so.

The Tail-f team supports the ConfD platform, which is used by a number of teams inside Cisco, as well as by organisations outside of Cisco (you may have seen the recent announcement to make ConfD free, restricted to NETCONF/YANG only)

With the ConfD infrastructure then you can support standardised YANG models, and also create your own. These YANG models need to be instrumented in order to integrate with your device's infrastructure.
