Inject Raw L2

Hi,

Looking at the documentation for Datapath APIs Supported by Platforms at:

https://developer.cisco.com/site/networking/one/onepk/documents/api-reference/api-support-matrix/

It seems that for IOS-XE (more specifically ISR-44xx) Inject Raw L2, Last Output, is not supported.

Are there any plans to add this for IOS-XE? In case, in what time frame and onepk release?

We currently use Inject Raw L2, Last Output (ONEP_TARGET_LOCATION_HARDWARE_DEFINED_OUTPUT) for IOS (T) ISR-G2.

I'm afraid we have no current plans to support this API on IOS-XE. Are you looking to use IOS-XE platforms for the same use cases as the ISR-G2/ESR platforms? Or is this for new use cases?

Hi Einar,

As you know, we have been following up this Datapath Service Set issue via other channels, but I add a comment here in the forum as well as it might be of interest to others.

The short version is that this is not a new use case for us. A uniform DPSS API is important for us for all of our targeted platforms, including IOS-XE and ISR-G2. We need support for inject/copy/divert for both L2 and L3 directly via a specific interface. In other words, where the onep application determines the interface to use for each L2 frame or L3 packet.
