Install IOx SDK ioxsdk-1.1.0.0.bin on IR829 Procedure

Hi All,

I am not sure whether I missed something but there are quite a lot of instructions but I still can't find/locate information/instructions that smoothly.

Currently I am trying to find instructions how to install SDK like ioxsdk-1.1.0.0.bin on IR829.

Per few materials I found, they point to SDK > Installation (link below)

https://developer.cisco.com/media/iox-dev-guide-7-12-16/sdk/sdk-installation/

But there, I could only see how to install SDK on Linux/Ubuntu machine not on IR829.

Please help to point me the guide for this.

Thanks!

Regards,

Edgar

Hi Edgar,

IOx SDK is the tool to develop IOx applications. You should install IOx SDK on a Linux/Ubuntu machine, not on IR829.

Re: Install IOx SDK ioxsdk-1.1.0.0.bin on IR829 Procedure

SDK means "Software Development Kits".  You have to install it on a machine for development.

So, usually, the procedure of development is as follows,

1, Develop the application in the development machine(recommend to use Ubuntu with SDK)

2, Package the application to PaaS/LXC/VM, using SDK in development machine(recommend to use Ubuntu with SDK)

3, Deploy/activate/start the package (generated by step 2) to target machine. The deploy tool might be "ioxclient", "fog director" or "local manager"
