NSO 4.1/4.2 user authentication

HI,

I was looking into the NSO 4.1 guides – and trying to find out how User authentication in  a system install interacts with the RHEL Linux and can we integrate it with LDAP.

I did not find much.  Can someone point me in the right direction.

PAM section for Linux and you are able to use the same users/groups defined in Linux

External Authentication section to understand better how to use something like LDAP/RADIUS/TACACS+

I’ve been through this recently, there are multiple threads on the mailer discussing External Authentication, there is also an LDAP example on devnet Best Practices

The LDAP script for remote authentication is on DevNet Best Practice area. When I demo to customers, I use it against Cisco’s LDAP with my username/password and works great.

So is this for the NSO users or the authgroups/device logins?

So the customer is asking first about the NSO users – i.e. users of the MANO software.

I need to look at the authgroups/device login security requirements – have not seen any specific to that – may be an oversight.
