NSO Integration to Prime Provisioning and Panorama

Our customer is currently using prime provisioning for their MPLS L3/L2 VPN Provisioning , they are planning to add Palo Alto FW as edge CPE devices and looking for an orchestration solution to act a single pane of glass provisioning and zero touch provisioning

They would like to keep using Prime provisioning and Panorama (Palo Alto Provisioning), the solution we are considering is to integrate NSO to the prime and Panorama API my questions are the following:

    • Would you recommend doing the integration with the element managers or go directly to provision the devices ?

    • Was an integration NED to prime provisioning ever built ?

    • How much will it cost to build a NED to integrate to Panorama ? And prime provisioning if it doesn’t exist ?

    • Can we do zero touch provisioning with NSO ? Can you please explain the requirement or provide a pointer where this is documented ?

Re: NSO Integration to Prime Provisioning and Panorama

Prime Provisioning and NSO directly overlap in terms of which SP business processes they address.  Integrating the two together in your customer’s operational environment will create unnecessary complexity and bring little economic benefit in terms of business agility or operational efficiency and we have no roadmap plans for integrating the two.  The NSO value proposition is strongest when it is interacting directly with the devices.  Strongly advise that you explore other architectural alternatives with your customer.

Re: NSO Integration to Prime Provisioning and Panorama

We do have a NED for direct communication with PaloAlto devices and if needed NSO can also talk to an EMS (in that case a Panorama NED will need to be developed and the typical cost for a NED is $40K). However, I am not sure about the role of NSO in combination with Prime Provisioning. Can you elaborate more on this and maybe even provide an architectural diagram.
