RE: NSO 4.1 - Alarm MIB

Hi expert,

i’m getting below message while trying to snmpwalk on below OID:

# snmpwalk -c xyz -v2c 172.17.32.11 1.3.6.1.4.1.24961.2.103

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.24961.2.103 = No Such Object available on this agent at this OID

# snmpwalk -c xyz -v2c 172.17.32.11 1.3.6.1.4.1.24961.2

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.24961 = No Such Object available on this agent at this OID

# snmpwalk -c xyz -v2c 172.17.32.11 1.3.6.1.4.1.24961

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.24961 = No Such Object available on this agent at this OID

# snmpwalk -c xyz -v2c 172.17.32.11

- Output as attached .txt – i’m seeing anything returned for TAILFF-XX.mibs

Am i missing anything here ?

Re: RE: NSO 4.1 - Alarm MIB

There was an exchange on the topic not that long ago. Try here.

In the shell where you are doing the snmpwalk, wondering if these are missing:

export MIBDIRS=$NCS_DIR/src/ncs/snmp/mibs

export MIBS=TAILF-TOP-MIB:TAILF-ALARM-MIB

.Thanks,

Bilal.

Re: RE: NSO 4.1 - Alarm MIB

Hi Bao,

The response you get is from your machine’s SNMP daemon, and not from NSO. The NSO SNMP runs (by default) on port 4000. To query it directly, you can use port 4000:

snmpwalk -c xyz -v2c 172.17.32.11:4000 1.3.6.1.4.1.24961.2.103

If the above works, you can setup SNMP proxy to redirect requests from your server’s snmpd to NSO’s SNMP server by adding the line below to your snmpd.conf (/etc/snmp/snmpd.conf):

proxy -v 1 -c public localhost:4000 .1.3.6.1.4.1.24961

After doing that, the commands you are trying should work.

Best Regards,
