Setting up NSO HA with nso 4.1

Hi All,

I have NSO 4.1 installed as local install. I have loaded the corresponding tailf-hcc package and did configuration for HA. I am running into issues while activating the same

cca-ncs1@ncs> show ha
          CURRENT
NAME      HA ROLE
-------------------
cca-ncs1  unknown
cca-ncs2  unknown
cca-ncs3  unknown

[ok][2016-01-14 16:09:05]

And I keep getting the following messages in a  loop

cca-ncs1@ncs>

System message at 2016-01-14 16:09:02...

    Subsystem started: ncs-dp-6-tailf-hcc:TcmDp

cca-ncs1@ncs>

System message at 2016-01-14 16:09:04...

    Subsystem stopped: ncs-dp-6-tailf-hcc:TcmDp

cca-ncs1@ncs>

System message at 2016-01-14 16:09:04...

    Subsystem started: ncs-dp-8-tailf-hcc:TcmDp

Any idea what could be wrong ?

Thanks

Georgy

Can you send your /etc/hosts configuration?

Re: Setting up NSO HA with nso 4.1

You may find more information in the devel.log file, what I have seen in the past if the hostname (including domain) does not match exactly in the /etc/hosts file, system hostname, and NCS config it will fail. Maybe if you send the output of the NCS configuration as well as these 2 files we can look at it further.

Hi Aqueel,

I have attached the three files. Is there any requirement that nso HA can be done only in system install ?

Thanks

Re: Setting up NSO HA with nso 4.1

Hello,

Please be advise that the new tailf-hcc package provided with NSO 4.1

requires slightly different configuration compared to the pre-4.1

tailf-hcc implementation. Please consult the deployment guide provided in

the doc directory of the NSO 4.1 tail-hcc package for the proper

configuration required.

If upgrading from NCS/NSO 3.x to 4.1 and intending to upgrade to tailf-hcc

for 4.1, HA must be re-configured.

Regards,

This is a slightly suspicious entry.

tailf-hcc is very sensitive to hostname lookups. The code looks at the member list, which is a list of names, and use that together with a call to

java.net.InetAddress.getLocalHost().getHostName();

to figure out which member of the member list is "me"
