Tail-f ML2 plugin issues

Hi NCS Team,

We are working with Verizon team on testing ML2 plug-in.

The requirement is that when a port binding request comes from Openstack, NSO should go to the Nexus switch and add the vlan to the allowed trunk in the corresponding interface.

Tail-f ML2 plugin (Kilo version) has installed and configured and NSO is receiving notification which contains list of Networks, Subnets and ports.

We need help on some of the open issues:

    1. ML2 plugin is sending huge payload dump to NSO, non-stop. The tcpdump shows close to 70k lines of payload per minute, non-stop. How to turn this off?

    1. Is there a way to keep NSO CDB and ML2 in sync?

    1. What is the parameter that can tell us whether it is a port-create or port-bind event?

We need help on urgent basis, as the customer is planning to complete testing by Friday.

Thanks in advance,

Sandeep

This is how the ml2 plugin works, every neutron event that happens will send ALL neurtron data to NSO. NSO will receive that data to the openstack service. You will then have to add what you want to happen to the openstack service.

    1. Is there a way to keep NSO CDB and ML2 in sync?

That is what the ml2 plugin does. Every change will send ALL the neutron data to NSO.

    1. What is the parameter that can tell us whether it is a port-create or port-bind event?

The openstack integration is a service so it will have to get ALL data and then FASTMAP will calculate what has changed.
