Use WAE for IWAN Type Scenario

Hi there,

We're looking at transforming our MPLS WAN environment to either a hybrid MPLS + Internet or Internet only in our branch offices.  Today the only real-time application we have running is a hosted VoIP solution with a cloud provider.  We're interested in experimenting with having our VoIP leverage the Internet only.  It would be interesting if WAE could orchestrate something like a Cisco iWAN solution.  As of current it only appears to be geared towards optimizing link utilization predominately is that correct?

Are there any plans to have WAE developed to provide iWAN like functionality?

Re: Use WAE for IWAN Type Scenario

Hi Stefano, I don't think this is a good fit for WAE. WAE currently is more focused on optimizing large IP/MPLS networks, so your service provider's network, not the L2 or L3 VPN service you're getting from a service provider.

I'd talk to your local Cisco SE as I think there could be other ways to approach your problem.

Regards,

Pete
