I cant say for sure where the issue lay: cdb or the actual xr implementation?

Any insight?

Re: XR NED bug?

1.      Change your cisco-iosxr yang file and the key for host, add community-string. Recompile and then reload packages.

    // snmp-server host *

    list host {

      tailf:info "Specify hosts to receive SNMP notifications";

      tailf:cli-suppress-mode;

      tailf:cli-sequence-commands;

      tailf:cli-compact-syntax;

      tailf:cli-incomplete-command;

      tailf:cli-delete-when-empty;

      key "address community-string";

2.      When you do a "set" in NCS, explicitly add the "trap" keyword

The above should work. Unicast me if you need a hand.

Re: XR NED bug?

Looks like the way it is modelled in yang.

    // snmp-server host *

    list host {

      tailf:info "Specify hosts to receive SNMP notifications";

      tailf:cli-suppress-mode;

      tailf:cli-sequence-commands;

      tailf:cli-compact-syntax;

      tailf:cli-incomplete-command;

      tailf:cli-delete-when-empty;

      key address;

Perhaps the “key” should be a composite, “address community-string”.

Regarding the “trap”, maybe that’s auto-generated by the XR device. The NED needs to do some smarts to pick up these auto-generated configuration à re-read and write to CDB.

And Yes, the above fix would need to go into the XR NED.
