OIR on ARM and 8-port FE in Catalyst 8510

Hi there

I've wondered if the ATM Router Module and the 8-port FE card are hotplug in terms of new installation of cards, or do I have to reboot the switch in order to make it work?

I've looked in the documentation, however I'm not 112% sure. I do believe they are hot plugable.

What my experience has been with these cards/modules is to wait for a couple of minutes between removal and insertion of the module...

So in essence they are hotplug... I suppose the same is true for new installations as well...

As assumed it all worked out quite well when I inserted the 2 cards into the switch.

The switch discovered the new card and started the self test procedure before it came online.

Next time I'm not worried to do it :)
