Q in Q and limit of vlans tag

Hi fellow net workers.

I am just curious, donot have the right gear to lab it out, just hoping  if someone has already checked that out.

Is there any limit for  vlans tags,  we can impose when using Cisco Q in Q or it can not be more than 2?

Is  above also true for IEEE based 802.1 ad standard? Based on Wiki docs  I see it is 2 vlan tags for 802.1ad but it is Wiki so can be wrong.

Thanks and have a nice weekend!!

More detail would be good.  What hardware and IOS are involved?

I'm assuming your question is about the depth of Q-in-Q tags, and not the number of tags presented by the customer's network.

This may or may not be applicable to you, but you can download the CSR1000v IOS-XE platform and run it in your VM environment for testing.  If you don't have a VM host, you can download a free hypervisor, like VM Workstation Player, and run the router on your desktop.
