A username field of CMX API

Hi All,

I think a username field of /api/location/v3/clients is based on 802.1x username. Is this correct?

Re: A username field of CMX API

Hi,

Yes.  Regarding using the UserName field in CMX, please see "The CMX Connect Service" in https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/mse/10-4/cmx_config/b_cg_cmx104.html

Also, see Wireless LAN Controller Web Authentication Configuration Example - Cisco for information on 802.1x username on WLC.  There is also a nice blog on WLC - Web authentication here https://mrncciew.com/2013/03/21/wlc-web-authentication/

Hi Matthew,

Quick question, why are the clients on the cmx location sandbox has no username? Are the iot devices which maybe the reason why it has no username? Thanks

Re: A username field of CMX API

HI Jon,

THe sandboxes use a WLC simulator call TSIM.  It may support wireless client parameters.  I will check with the TSIM folks to see if we can add this feature.

THanks.
