I have downloaded and setup the MSE Simulator VM Image on a Windows XP machine. At startup, the simualtor keeps showing the message "Starting MSE Platform, waiting to check the status" and eventually dies out with the message "Failed to get the status". The msed status command returns "STATUS: MSE Platform is down". Explicitly starting through msed start also results in the same behaviour above.
Can someone please help resolve this?
No, you do not need WCS at all. WCS is a wireless management tool that uses the context aware api, but it is not necessary to get the simulator up and running. You can connect directly to the MSE from your sample application.
If you are having trouble with your code, please post the snippet and your MSE ifconfig.
Your code looks ok, but I took a closer look at the logs you posted and it looks like you are getting a socket connection timeout. Are you on a VPN connection (or something similar) when trying this? If so, disconnect and give it a shot. Also, make sure that all of the axis2 .jars are in your Java build path.
