Hi,
We have recently bought an ME-3800x, and have implemented this in our MPLS network.
The thing we are struggling with is to add a vlan interface in a vrf, and insert a dhcp relay in this.
The ip interface is working, but it will not forward broadcast dhcp requests. Dhcp-requests as unicast is ok(dhcpinform etc.)
If we move this interface to one of our 7600s, it works OK.
SW ver: 12.2(52)EY2
The interface looks like this:
interface Vlan413
description FttH-Data
ip dhcp relay information trusted
ip vrf forwarding Internett
ip address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
ip helper-address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
end
Anyone has asny ideas to why this doesn't work?
Greetings,
Jan Ove Greger

I Think ME3800 supports DHCP Relaying, can you check if you can ping the DHCP Server, can you check from your DHCP server if it receives any request from the Switch, and is switch reachable from the DHCP Server ?

Hi,
Yes the DHCP server is reacheable from the vlan interface, but the DHCP server doesn't receive anything from the interface when the interface receives broadcast requests from a dhcp client.
When the vlan interface receive a unicast request from a dhcp client, the dhcp server receives the request...

Hi Jan,
this sounds like some kind of (new?) bug.
You'd better open a TAC case for this.

Riccardo
