Thanks for the info, but have had this info from Harold Ritter before, what I was after is if anyone could recommend a MPLS book to get you started (as there are a lot of books out there on this subject).

I am just about to start my journey into MPLS so would be very garteful if someone could recommend a book that they have used when they were looking to understanding MPLS - Just to get me going !!

I used this book during the inital stage of knowing MPLS and VPN.

MPLS and VPN Architectures, Vol. 1 (Hardcover)

by Ivan Pepelnjak, Jim Guichard

then, move to Vol 2 :)

i have that book in a hardcopy and the second volume in pdf, but i haven't read it yet...i'll use it to prepare for a project in my studies which relies to VPN...but to simulate i have a problem because i can't get a simulator that accept VPN!!

It starts very easy and leaves ATM out at the start. I think it is very well written and gives you all the basics you need.

i don't know many books talking about MPLS, i have one talking about the architecture of mpls and vpn, it's in two volumes i have the first in a hardcopy and the second in pdf...i didn't read it all but i think it's a good one to start with "MPLS and VPN Architecture" by Ivan Pepelinjak and Jim Richard...and good luck

The basics of MPLS is been covered in MPLS VPN architecture book .If you are looking @TE refer Eric osbourne book on TE which covers in Detail about RSVP ,LDP and also TE .

About the book "MPLS and VPN architecture" I have the volume 1 in hardcopy but the volume 2 in pdf, if you need it I can help, while I'm not sure about the volume 1 in pdf.
