Hi there,
in order to set up a flexible Lab environment we want to have LAN switches connecting P and PE routers:
PE_Router --- LAN_Switch --- P_Router --- LAN_Switch --- PE_Router
Question: will 3550 or 3750 switches support MPLS data, i. e. will Ethernet frames with
Ethertype 0x8847 (unicast) / 0x8848 will be forwarded by LAN switches?
Thanks a lot in advance,
David

I am doing the same in my lab with added dot1q tunneling to make those switches transparent. (no need to adjust switch's VLAN config in case of trunking between routers)

David,
The 3550 or 3750 switches do NOT support MPLS. 3750s supports up to 26 VRF Lite, but that is all.

Yes at Layer2 Switches forward packet based on MAC addresses, so in your scenario it should work, you should also increase the MTU to minimum 1550.
