MPLS- Tag Switching on Router FE sub-interface

Wanted to convert the existing live router to P router. But due to router have only one FastEtherent only, I decide to change that port to trunk port, create new VLAN to attached to PE router.

My question is , it is possible to configure "tag-switching ip" on sub-interface, and does it work ?

Normally we configure it at physical FE and WAN interface.

I am using Cisco 7206VXR and Cisco 3745.

It should work just fine then as long as the specific interface or PA supports dot1q encapsulation.
