Protocol mpls not configured or enabled on this card, IOS XR/CEF/Bundles

Hi,

not sure whether this is MPLS or XR related. At least the topic affects both. We have several ASR9K in production running on IOS XR 6.6.3 (64-bit) and recognized that "show cef mpls interface" reports "Protocol mpls not configured or enabled on this card" for several bundle interfaces where MPLS is configured and obviously also running. Is this a misinterpretation of the output, which could lead to the assumption that there is some MPLS<->CEF issue?

According to the Session Presentation from Cisco Live on slide 68 MPLS Forwarding table should look different if CEF wasn't activated. In "show mpls forwarding-table" we see entries that are using the bundle interfaces as outgoing interface. So I would assume CEF is running here. Does anyone know, why we see the message that MPLS is not configured?

Hi @mw79 ,

I am not sure why this command does not seem to work on bundle interfaces.

By the way, It is not possible to disable CEF on IOS-XR.

I use "show mpls interface" to determine whether MPLS is active on any given interface.
