SR orLDP ???

Hello Guys

1. Why LDP didn't assign label to Loopback while SR did assign , what is the technicality behind that

2. What makes me prefer SR over LDP , ???

Hi Ibrahim,

1- A label should be allocated by both SR and LDP.

2- LDP is preferred by default. You can use "sr-prefer" command to change this default behavior.

why let me choose to Deploy SR instead of LDP???what is the benefits of SR over LDP , what let SR attracts SP over LDP

You don’t want to use SR in production yet, it’s still very new.

SR is used only if you have traffic engineering needs.

If you are not doing RSVP-TE now you don’t need SR.

If you are doing RSVP-TE and running out of steam because of 100s to thousands tunnels, then you need SR, but at this stage you’re big enough to work with cisco closely on getting it right.

There is no concept of bandwidth reservation in LFA.
