Cisco ISE License conversion

Currently I am working on Cisco ISE version 2.3 & planning to upgrade to ISE version 3.1.

I have a query on ISE licensing conversion.

currently I am having 6500 Base (perpetual) & 6000 Plus license(subscription based).

1. After conversion what I get and how much count... Essential Advantage Primer?

2. Can I use the VM common licenses on ISE VM appliance with version 2.7?

1. 6000 Advantage, 500 Essentials

2. Yes, but the VMC license requires Smart Licensing

All Essentials, Advantage, and Premier Licenses (known as Access Licenses) are subscription-based.

Adding to the provided answer, be aware that also the 500 Essentials licenses will be a subscription after the migration.

Thank you Charlie & Karsten.

Hi karsten,

What about the 6000 Advantage licenses, those will be also on the subscription?

All Essentials, Advantage, and Premier Licenses (known as Access Licenses) are subscription-based.

Yes, the Advantage licenses are the new equivalent to the old Plus licenses which have been a subscription forever. Mainly the way the consumption is counted has changed.
