Cisco ISE Licenses

Hello!  I have ISE Essential licenses on my cisco account (smart licensing).  How can I set them on ISE 3.1 VM ? I have created a token in Smart Licensing to connect these licenses with ISE. But I couldn’t figure it out any more.

Hello! Thank you. Take a look please. Does it show that 0 essential licenses available? In smart account i have 200

The release entitlement means that you are not using any license, however the ISE is registered to Smart licensing server and Essential license is there on it.

Once you will send traffic to this ISE, you will see the consumption count will increase.

-You don't have any VM license on smart licensing server, that's why it is showing out of compliance.

Is it important to have VM license?

Yes, it is required if you are running ISE in a VM. 1 VM license per VM instance.

Please see the authoritative ISE Licensing & Ordering Guide @ https://cs.co/ise-licensing for all licensing needs and questions about Essentials licenses versus VM licenses. Your license error is showing that you have not provisioned VM licenses for your ISE deployment. VM licenses are separate from active endpoint licenses.

You will need to login to https://software.cisco.com/software/smart-licensing and assign your purchased licenses to your ISE deployment after registering your ISE deployment using a token from CSSM.
