Comunication between ACS and "User Changeable Password" ?

Hi, in the past i installed several ACS Servers with the User Changeable Password (UCP) Add-On. Usually the Add-on was installed on the same server as the ACS, but this time i need to install both on different servers which is supported according to the documentation.

My question is which protocol is used for the communication between the web-server with UCP and the Cisco ACS ?

And is this communication secure and / or encrypted ?

According to my TAC rep, the protocol used between UCP and the ACS server is proprietary, and is encrypted. Passwords are not sent in the clear across this link.
