ISE and Context Visibility application report

Hi Team,

Regarding this ISE 2.3 application report:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/ise/2-3/release_notes/ise23_rn.html

"Context Visibility Enhancements

The Application dashboard in the Context Visibility page helps you to identify the number of endpoints that have a specified application installed. The results are displayed in graphical and tabular formats. The graphical representation helps you make a comparative analysis. Applications are classified into 13 categories. Applications that do not fall into any of these categories are termed Unclassified."

Can we say ISE will report each and every installed application on endpoints?

Can our customer create an application inventory just based on this report ?

Thank you!

Best regards,

Gyorgy

This feature works in combination with a posture agent, either AnyConnect ISE Posture module or Cisco Temporal Agent.

It should be able to show most, if not all, installed applications. The presentation format is on the web UI itself under ISE Context Visibility but not the traditional reports that we run under Operations > Reports.

Thank You!

Our customer would like to use this feature for app inventory, so therefore this is a critical question, whether ISE reports ALL of the installed apps.

Can You, please confirm "ALL"?

Thank you! Best regards, Gyorgy

I would not recommend it as an inventory tool. The compliance module will report on all it can see.

Since we are capturing this information within ISE, is there any way to pull the information with the API?
