Hello,

My name is William Gray, I work in Customer Assurance reporting to Jonathon Ludford.

Jon has tasked us with a project with answering the questions below along with others.

Who is the main point of contact if I need further elaboration?

What is the recommended version of software for ISE?

What is required to upgrade to this recommended version depending which version is currently installed on ISE?

Which versions of software are end of life?

Is there some place online where this information is published?

ISE Documentation will answer most of your questions.  See the install guide for relevant version to understand the supported migration paths.  EOL info is also available on Cisco.com:

Cisco Identity Services Engine - End-of-Life and End-of-Sale Notices - Cisco

Recommended version will have dependencies based on customer requirements and tolerance.  For example, customer may require a specific feature only available in newer release.  At same time, then newer the release, the lower the maturity.  That said, a general recommendation on this day of September 19, 2017, would be ISE 2.2 with Patch 3.  The key reasons include the fact that ISE 2.2 has been released for quite some time and has been deploy a number of customers, has reached milestone of 3rd patch, and is a long term release, so that helps ensure some longevity after deployment.
