We are experiencing an issue with the radius request being sent to the client machine (the user trying to log in) instead of being handled in the server.
We are using SESM software v 3.3.1
To troubleshoot our problems we have established two test beds
SESM installation in Demo Mode (WinXP Pro)
SESM installation in Demo Mode (Win2000 SP4)
For both installations please assume standard configuration files as installed (though we have previously tried several times with different configs)
For both installations we chose a RADIUS install.
In the first case we are able to log in with user: radiususer / cisco from the same machine.
In the first case we are NOT able to log in with user: radiususer / cisco from other machines.
In the second case we are NOT able to log in with user: radiususer / cisco from the same machine or other machines*.
The exception being when we log from a machine that has the AAA application running and is able to return the RADIUS request.
These tests have been performed with the following applications running at the same time:
Scenario A
NWSP, AAA
Scenario B
NWSP, AAA, DNS, Proxy, SSGSim
Both scenarios provide the same results. (The AAA request is sent to the machine trying to log in to the portal, i.e. the end user)
Is this a restriction of the Demo Mode?
If you need them, we can provide the log files for the test and/or ethereal packets captured from the servers.
Note: we are not able to capture the packets when the server and the client are in the same machine.
Thanks for your help,
Carlos
