Using host names for TACACs config rather than IP address

Hi All,

I have a primary and secondary instance of ACS 5.6.

Is there a way to use the actual host names of my ACS devices when configuring TACACs on my routers / switches etc. I want the host names to be saved in the config rather than the ACS IP addresses. This is so I can change the IP easily without then having to go through hundreds of devices if I ever do change them.

I redone the config using hostname, but all the cisco device seems to do is resolve it and then save the IP address in the config.

Thoughts?

The best thing for that is to use a load balancer. That way you only add the VIP in the NADs config and then you can manage the individual AAA servers directly from the load balancer :)

If you don't have/want a load balancer then you can look at a tool that can push configs to multiple devices like NCM from Solarwinds or Cisco PRIME.

I hope this helps!
