Core Issue

The jumper position on the mainboard must be changed for the memory to be recognized correctly.

Resolution

If after upgrading the total DRAM memory on a AS5300 series access server to 128MB, the router  only recognizes 32MB, follow the steps below.

  1. Power down the AS5300 and remove the power.
  2. Locate jumper J3 on the mainboard.
  3. Change the jumper setting on J3 from the default of 2-3 to 1-2.
  4. The router should now recognize 128MB of DRAM.
