Here's the scenario: I would like to implement auto smartport in a test catalyst 4500 series switch running ROM: 15.0(1r)SG3. I've been able to create custom triggers, and custom macros (to some extent, I'll ask another question later). I understand that if 802.1x is not configured, CDP/LLDP is used for detection. Mac adress is then used if those don't work. But what if nothing is recognized? Can we specify a default custom macro to be used as a last resort if no authentication works at all? If so, how?
Thank you for your help. This is my first post and I'll try to help others as well.
