C6880-X module works on C6880-X-LE and vice versa

Hello everyone,

Modules model:

C6880-X = C6880-X-16P10G
C6880-X-LE = C6880-X-LE-16P10G

C6880-X module works on C6880-X-LE and vice versa. They are compatible each other? Can I use both modules on both chassis?

Thanks.

What are you trying to accomplish?
The main difference is the size of the Netflow tables, ACL and routes.

'Cause I need to deploy a C6880-X chassis but I have only C6880-X-LE modules left.

That's not correct.
The 6880 is a "fixed" supervisor chassis. What matters if the chassis is LE or not is the PFC/DFC inside. The only thing that can be "swapped" out are the optical cards.
IT is like buying a new car. The option is to put a 1.6 cc engine (6880-LE) or a 5.0 cc variety (6880). The optional modules are like the stereo, HVAC, seat warmers, etc.

Thanks for your response Leo,

I understand your point of view, but what we need is to use a 16-port 10gb LE module in a C6880-X chassis! The intention is not to replace SUP module! And I understand that the modules of the LE model have smaller capacities of Routes, ACL, Tcam and etc ... But only had to know if it works correctly in the C6880-X chassis.

I can't see anything about incompatibilities modules model C6880-X and C6880-X-LE vs 2 chassis model on datasheet document, its the cause about my doubt.

If we can not get a LE chassis I will try to install the LE module on the C6880-X chassis and see if it works correctly, thanks for the help.

If I remembered correctly, a C6880-X-16P10G will work with a C6880-X-LE, HOWEVER, the C6880-X-16P10G will operate with "standard" tables even though it has XL tables installed.
