I have 230 L2 3550 switches in a large WAN network. All these devices are disovered via ANI and feed into RME. I can pull hardware inventory, etc. I use netconfig to make changes.
In User Tracking I only see 28 switches with 370 ports. I expected to see a lot more. We don't run the UTLite.exe, but I still thought User Tracking should report all L2 ports in the up/up status.
Any ideas? Using RME 3.5, Campus Manager 3.3 under Solaris 8.

Under Reports > Discovery Statistics, I see start at 10am, end at 2am the following day. Is this normal for 230 L2 switches? If User Tracking only reports ports in the up/up status but takes 14 hours to complete then the inventory wouldn't be near real-time, right?

I would contact TAC regarding a bug fix. We run Windows (I see you run Solaris) but there was a bug in User Tracking that caused it to discover for long periods of time. Once I patched UT our discovery time went down to under 1 hour for 500 devices. Just a thought.
