Hello, I am a networking student and Currently Own 2 2911 Routers and 2 WS-C960-24TT-L Switches. I use one of each for practicing cisco commands and such. I would like to know if I can use the EHWIC-4G-LTE-A or the AT&T equivalent to provide internet to my house as it would be faster the satellite internet I currently have as I live in a rural area. My understanding is that you put into the router with a compatible sim card and configure it. My plan is to have it run to my switch and have a straight through to my computer and to a wireless access point somewhere in the house. Will this work? If so is there a specific sim card I would need or is it just and sim card that belongs to Version or AT&T? Also could I maybe use the daughter company of Version, Visible Mobile or the Daughter Company of AT&T , Cricket Wireless? PS: Sorry if this is the wrong location for this question if so please tell me and I will change it to somewhere it belongs.

Hi jm,

In theory, it should work, as long as the sim card supports 4G LTE, fits the SIM socket, already activated and has sufficient mobile data to provide the internet connection. However, it's better to check with your service provider to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Please refer to the official Cisco documentation for Verizon Internet Access with  Cisco eHWIC-4G-LTE: https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/routers/access/interfaces/software/deployment/guide/guide_c07-720271.pdf
