Catalyst 8300 tuning?

Hello, Have you try to tune Catalyst 8300 platform resources? I bought this device as Internet Edge Router based on 20G throughtput, but after installing I see a lot off drops on Internet interface (up to 2Gbps traffic). IOS 17.3, CPU and memory works on 20%

In Cisco documentation I found info about Dynamic Allocation od Cores but command on my device don't work.

Hmm, just reading the data sheet for the 8300s and regarding your "based on 20G throughput", the data sheets use the wonderful phrase "up to #Gbps".  They also note, for most of their nearly 20 Gbps ratings, packet sizes of 1400Bytes.

Interestingly, for SD-WAN, they do show IPSec using IMIX, and its throughput is about 25% of the 1400 byte sized packets.

Lastly, their performance stats, don't list usage of features other than IPSec.

I.e. the router might not have quite the capacity you expect.

That aside, your Internet interface drops are egress drops?  What the bandwidth on the LAN and WAN interfaces?
