Cisco 2901 Voice Trunk and Watchguard T35 Issue

Hello everyone,

I could use some help here for the following problem.

We have a 2901 voice trunk from our ISP,and use a BVI interface with ip 192.168.100.1 255.255.255.248 connected to our IPBX, here lies the issue, when these are back to back connected everything works as expected, but we have been asked to place a Watchguard firewall to route the voice traffic into our LAN so that a remote IPBX can use it via VPN tunnel.

What i did was make a bridge interface on the watchguard with ip address 192.168.100.5 255.255.255.248 with two member ports, one connected to 2901 and one to IPBX. BUT after a few minutes of inactivity incoming calls were interrupted and only when outbound calls were initiated from IPBX incoming calls were resumed.and this goes on and on.

Is this an arp problem as im aware that maybe 2901 interface cannot communicate with the correct mac address?

Any help would be appreciated on how to find a workaround.

Let me also say that i do not have access to 2901 voice trunk.
