Cisco 3550, CiscoWorks, SNMP mib ifindex

As you can see from the output below, in some cases the numeric port number does not equal the mib's ifindex.  However, I believe CiscoWorks CiscoView is using the snmp ifindex when applying VLAN memberships.

For example:

1) Open the VLAN membership configuration in CiscoView.

2) Set port 47 to be in vlan "x" and apply changes.

switch#show int status: reports that port 43 has been changed to vlan "x", not port 47 (see below: FastEthernet0/47: Ifindex = 43).

Anyone know how to get around this?

Thanks,

-- Jason

Can you post a screenshot of the error from CiscoView? Also you are running an older version of LMS, you should download LMS 3.2 which is free to upgrade from an 3.x version.

Windows:

Solaris:
