Cisco 3850 deleting from flash

Hi

We received a supposed new 48 port Catalyst 3850 PoE and it has a secure config on it.  I have tried to delete the nvram_config via the romon but the flash: is read only.  Is there a way to delete this or should we just sent this back saying why are you senting us used equipment?

What is wrong with using the command "wr erase"?

Nope doesn't work as I cannot get to switch#

I am trying to do this via switch:

switch: dir

List of filesystems currently registered:

xmodem[0]: (read-only)
null[1]: (read-write)
bs[3]: (read-only)
flash[18]: (read-only)
tftp[19]: (read-write)

Flash is read-only

So for me to delete the config this will have to be changed to read-write

Is this possible?

Look at the prompt. The switch is ROMmon.
Post the complete output to the command "dir flash:".

switch: dir flash:
Directory of flash:/

Console into the switch and enter the command again.

Post everything.  We want to see what the switch is doing.

switch: boot flash:packages.conf

It's working fine.
What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

I am trying to wipe the config that was left in the new switch that we have purchased and it is not letting me do this.

By all means keep sending me ideas but I do not have the resources to keep following up on this error made at Cisco's end.

If it's quick and easy then fine otherwise I will be sending these switches back
