Cisco 6509 WiSM SNMP traps

Hi,

I currently have a Cisco 6509 router containing a couple of WiSM2 modules in it.

I'm looking for a way to configure the 6509 to send SNMP traps whenever a log entry is added regarding the WiSM2 modules.

For example:
%WiSM-5-STATE: Controller 1 in slot 25 is Oper-Down
needs to be sent as an SNMP trap to our network management system.

I've tried going trough the list of options in the "snmp-server enable traps ?" command, but I can't find an option that suggests support for WiSM2 events.

Configuring SNMP traps on the Wireless LAN Controllers itself isn't an option. The traps need to be sourced from the router.

Any ideas are more than welcome!

Regards,

Martijn Noij

Hello MartijnNoij,

if the snmp-server enable traps ? output does not display such trap, you might want to take into consideration the following link:

https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/44771/how-send-customized-trap-using-eem

All it explains is to send a snmp trap when a syslog is generated, just as a possible alternative.
