Hi All

I am trying to put 2 new Nexus 5600 switches on Cisco Prime

The snmp works as i have tested it elsewhere

However when i put the switches on i get the following ...

I presume you are using SNMPv2 and the SNMP community you've specified is the RW?

Hi

No i am using snmp v3 and i am testing it to make sure it works elsewhere

which it does.

This doesnt seem to be working on the 5600 switch

When configuring SNMPv3 (the type of SNMP that uses Authentication and Privacy) on a Nexus, you need to specify the SNMP user on the switch something like this:

snmp-server user <username> network-admin auth md5 <auth key> priv <priv key> localizedkey

I've used that syntax successfully with Nexus 5596's and Prime Infrastructure 2.1. I've not had a chance to do it with a 5600 series but it should work the same.
