Cisco Prime upgrade from 3.3 to 3.5 took 6+ hours. Is this normal?

Hello Everyone,

When performing a Cisco Prime upgrade from 3.3 to 3.5 we have observed the following:

1.) The Application backup job ran for 6 hrs when it normally only takes 2 hours 20 minutes on daily scheduled backup.
2.) Restore + upgrade took 6+ hrs

Based on other admin's experiences I've read, upgrading Cisco Prime normally takes several hours (most of a working day) to upgrade... Is this to be expected?

Also, is there a reason why the Application backup step of the upgrade would take 4 hours longer than the daily scheduled backup?  Since the upgrade, the daily backups still only take 2 hours 20 minutes... so should we expect future upgrades to take around 6 hours for the backup portion?

Thank you,
Brad

 - Prime is notorious for taking a long time to upgrade. Also during which the database formats and structures are usually changed , which does not happen during a daily backup and  restore. In that context it may help to purge as much as possible data from a database which is not relevant  after the upgrade such as 'past endpoints' (e.g.).
