Hi ,
It's a 3 step process.. ( WCS >NCS > PI ) :
1>> Get the WCS to PI 2.0 migration license, using the below document
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/netmgtsw/ps6504/ps6528/ps12239/gu
ide_c07-729223.html#wp9000495
2>> Here we have to do a lot of things..
WCS data export, NCS installation, NCS Demo license query/install, Importing
WCS on to NCS
- Get the WCS to latest software (getting WCS to latest is a good
practice though we can use 7.0.172)
- Export the Data from the WCS
- After exporting the Data, install Fresh NCS on the VM.. this is
how we install the NCS on a VM - Click here
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps10315/products_tech_note09186a0080bba
943.shtml#virtual
- After NCS installation, get the NCS demo license from the
licensing team - drop an email to licensing@cisco.com requesting for a Demo
license with the NCS UID
- After installing the Demo license, import the WCS exported data
onto the NCS
Here is the document which gives us step by step process
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/wireless/ncs/1.1/release/notes/NCS_R
N1.1.1.html#wp83675
Here is the NCS deployment guide , this answers most of the deployment
queries..
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps10315/products_tech_note09186a0080bba9
43.shtml#intro
3>> Inline upgrade from NCS to PI 2.0
- From NCS it's a simple inline upgrade to PI, before upgrading
please take a clean backup of the NCS DB just to be on the safer side. After
Upgrade install the WCS-PI migration license
Here is the document
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/prime/infrastructure/2.0/release/no
tes/cpi_rn.html#wp43830
Hope it will help
Thanks-
