hello
I'm facing an communication issue between cisco 7606 router and 3750 switch, they are connected back to back by a fiber cable. Unfortunately layer 1 and 2 are all up up but I’m not able ping from one side to another. i did test all transceivers and cable and they are working fine. i tried the layer 2 as well as layer 3 configuration from both side but this issue was not solved. Whenever i launch debug from the router, there is no output in case I’m pinging the remote side but it is working fine if the ping if it is for local ip "loopback, interface vlan or ip address".
any idea how to troubleshoot this issue.

Antonio

Hi,
What are you pinging to ??
Switch's management IP address or some host on that switch ??
Also, can you share arp table for both router and switch please.

Hello
I'm trying to ping the interface vlan on the neighbor switch in case of layer 2, or the ip address of the adjacent switch in case of layer 3. i clear many times the arp table but the problem was not solved. note that i'm able to see the adjacent switch using the CDP neighbor details with the correct ip address.
i will capture the output of the arp from both sides and share it with you.
