Hi

I have installed Cisco Works LMS 3.2.If I go to Campus Manage - Visualization - Topology service, I couldnt see the topolgy.First time it was asking install java. After install Java it is not work. Again and again it is asking install java and the system asking 'you want overwrite' but the topology view is not open.

------------------------------------------------------

Installation of Java Plug-in on Windows

You should use the supported Java Plug-in version 1.6.0_11 for  accessing CiscoWorks Applications. We recommend that you uninstall other Java  Plug-in versions from the client machine.

Note You will be asked to  install Java Plug-in 1.6.0_11,  when you invoke applications that use plug-in.  For example, Campus Manager.

----------------------------------------------------

Please advise how can rectify this issue and see teh topology ?

Thanks and Regards,

Shahul hameed.

You can check if it is properly installed. go to control panel > Java and see Java > View and see what version is there. if other version is there too, try to uncheck it and keep the supported (1.6.0_11) box checked.

I would recommend to try with different browsers a couple of time, like supported FF or IE.

Before trying it in browser, please remove the temp files for java as well.  From Java > General > Temp Internet Files > view > delete all there.

Hi Vinod Arya

I tried as you said but it is not working. After I installed Java restart the PC but no work. It is asking again java installation page. After some times there was update for java 1.6.0_37 I installed that also but no result. Please advise is there any other way to trouble shoot ?

Thanks and Regards,

Shahul Hameed

Did you also tried with diff. browsers like FF or IE??

Please enable Java console and share the output after trying to launch the Topology.

You can enable Java console from Control Panel > Java > Advanced > Java console > show console.

This should be enabled on yout client machine, or wherever you are trying to run the toplogy service. Please also confirm, if you server is DNS resolvable from the PC you are trying? If not try to add the service details on /etc/hosts file.

-Thanks

Is your server is a Windows server? if so, please check if you can lauch and run toplogy on the server itself?

If you can't please share the Java Console for the server as well.
