Good day,

I am running 3.1 and 3.2.1 at different clients.

When i run a discovery to it lists the new devices and states that the devices are reachable.

If i do a search in device managment i see the device with its listed ip and device info.

As soon as i search for the device in DFM after manually adding it i get the following message (see attached)

I get the same message on both platforms for differnet decives.

I have tried to add it both amanually and automatically.

Can you please assist?

Jaques

Add a  * behind the devices name

Cheers,

Michel

Hi Michel,

Have tried adding device with * after device name but still does not work.

Any other suggestions?

No, if that did not work then the device in DFM is called different then the device in the DCR.

DFM always uses the DNS name, often combined with the domain, hence the * I sugested

Expand the 'all devices' and hope to find.

Cheers,

Michel

Hi Michel,

I had a look at the document on the Cisco website for IOS versions support on CWLMS 3.2

The dives in question has the following:

Cisco IOS Software, C2960 Software (C2960-LANBASEK9-M), Version 12.2(50)SE5,

There is nothing listed in the document for this version. Could this be the reason why we can not add it to the DFM?

Jaques

If the device does not get into DFM it may be an easy thing to install all latest device packages from CCO.

Normally it is the sysobjectid of the device that makes wheter DFM can handle the device, not the IOS version.

Cheers,

Michel

Hi Michel,

Pardon my ignorance.

Are you referring to the patches listed in:

Downloads Home

Products

Network Management and Automation

Routing and Switching Management

Network Management Solutions

CiscoWorks LAN Management Solution 3.2 and earlier

CiscoWorks Lan Management Solution 3.2

LMS Patches

Windows-3.2.1

If not where would i find the device packages you are referring to?

No I mean the device packages update in the software center. Not patches or software updates.

if the device is not supported it sould still get to DFM but become unknown

Check DFM  -> Device Management -> Device Summary  or  Discovery Status.

Also check the device allocation if you have not already done that.

Cheers,

Michel
