DFM 3.2.0: devices stuck in Questioned

Hi all,

I'm currently experiencing some problems with a fresh install of LMS 3.2 on Windows 2008SP2 64bit. All components of LMS seem to work fine, except for DFM 3.2.0. I'm using auto-import and only a handfull devices enter the 'Known' state during discovery (using SNMPv3). Most devices switch straight to the Questioned (SNMP timeout) while a few others keep hanging in Learning. Network, ACL or firewall problems have been ruled out. DFM discovery timeout and retry values have been increased to 10 and 5 respectively.

I have already installed patches dfm3.2-win-CSCta56151.tar and dfm3.2-win-CSCtb87449.tar according to https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/1319881#1319881

Unfortunately, this did not resolve the problem. I also manually cleared the engine ID of all devices through the device management of CS. This hasn't changed the situation. See also the attached logfile. Does anyone have a clue on how to fix this?

Thanks,

Vincent

Do the other applications,CS,  RME & Campus work OK with the V3 credentials?

In CSCOpx\objects\jt\bin you find some cli snmpwalk tools to test manually if the credentials are really OK.

Cheers,

Michel

Hi Michel,

Thanks for the reply. Yup, other LMS apps work fine with the supplied credentials. Also, some switches get discovered properly. Others fail the proces. Furthermore, it's not always the same switches. Results vary.

greets,

vincent

This problem is now fixed. It turned out to be a problem with the SNMP EngineID.

See https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3298207#3298207 for details.
