Hi Mathieu,

here is the DFM related Document for the descriptions:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/cscowork/ps2421/products_user_guide_chapter09186a0080702b50.html

OperationallyDown

Description: Interface?Card or network adapter's operational state is not normal. System Hardware?Disk's operational state is not normal.

Trigger: Polling, or processed trap (see Processed SNMP Traps).

Note For interfaces, DFM will only generate an OperationallyDown clear event if the card is reinserted into the same slot, and if the module index is the same before and after the card is reinserted.

Severity: Critical.

Device Type: All.

Event Code: 1018.

The difference is between the administratively up (you or another network engineer set the port down) and operational down (the interface is up but the line ist down).

Lets say you have set a port "no shut" on the command line the port is administratively up. If no cable is inserted in the port and the line is down the port is operational down.

Hope that helps a bit.

Best regards,

Frank

Event Description is as follows:

EVENT DESCRIPTION = 192.168.5.200: > this is the source of the event

Cisco Configuration Management Trap:InformAlarm >Event was triggered by an Cisco Config Mgmt Trap

IF-192.168.5.200/53 [VL5] [192.168.5.200] > first part ( IF-192.168.5.200/53) is the managed Object in DFM: an Interface of 192.168.5.200 with ifindex 53, interfaceType is Vlan 5 and has IP address 192.168.5.200

OperationallyDown > the interface is operationally down

Hi,

There have been multiple events that have occured on the device.

One Event is a Cisco Configuration Trap which is classified as Inform alarm in DFM

Second event is Operationally down event of an Interface.

So the alert information of the device will have all the events inside the alert.

Thanks,

Radhika
