Hello!
I have two switches, and when I run the Version command one shows:
LANBASEK9-M 15.2(1)E2
and the other:
LANBASEK9-MZ 15.2(1)E2
What's the difference between the -M and -MZ? Can these be used together on the same network?
Thanks!

Hello @MartinNantus11364,
in general, the 'M' refers to the unpacked and installed version in RAM, whereas the 'MZ' refers to the compressed image stored in flash.
So they are in fact the same software with the same features and can be used together in the network without any problems.
HTH!

Thanks! That's what I wanted to know! Customer was very concerned that the replacement switch (-MZ) didn't match the existing switches (-M)

You're welcome!
These questions from customers are very understandable. Sometimes a single digit or letter can indeed make a huge difference.
However, in this case it does not matter and is just a kind of 'cosmetic issue'.
