Distinction among Cisco Prime Carrier Management suite, Cisco Prime Infrastructure and NCS.

Hi,

Here are the links i found of above products.

  • Cisco Prime Carrier Management suite:
The suite consists of Cisco Prime Central, Cisco Prime Network, etc.

    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/solutions/service-provider/prime-carrier-management/index.html#~overview,
  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/cloud-systems-management/prime-infrastructure/index.html
  • NCS
This was found in ESP(Envolved Services Platform)

    http://www.tail-f.com/network-control-system/

Now comes to the question, those three platforms appear overlap with each other. All support south-bound API toward multi-domain infrastructure as well as north-bound API for development. Can anyone gives me some hint of the distinction among those three? Which platform should i turn into as a service provider.

Hi ,

If you are looking for SP NMS , please go ahead with Prime carrier management suite which  consist

of Cisco Prime Central, Cisco Prime Network, PPM

PI is for Enterprise network solution (managing both wired and wireless devices) ,

NCS was the old version of PI or earlier called as NCS with wireless feature or wirelss support with very limited supported for wired devices.

Thanks-

Hi ,

Appreciate for replying. Speaking of the field of carrier provider, I've noticed that Cisco is gonna announce another orchestrate engine which was acquired from Tail-f(http://www.tail-f.com/network-control-system/).

I couldn't tell the distinction between those platforms, nor which platform to turn to.
