We are having an issue with one of our client ASAs. Once or twice a year the ASA will drop all connected routes from the RIP database and the hosts that depend on the advertised networks will remove those routes. To resolve the issue we have to failover to the standby and reboot the new standby.
I'm look for a solution to use the EEM on the ASA to force a failover if the routes are missing from the RIP database. My idea is to setup watchdog timer to check every 5 minutes for 5 routes in the rip database. If they are not present make standby active and reboot the previous standby.
Is this possible?
