EEM Script for monitoring Neighbor device ?

Hi All,

I have two Nexus 9K switches(Sw-A & Sw-B) connected via Trunk Port(Port-47-48). Can I monitor Sw-A uplink(Port1) from Sw-B that If Sw-A uplink goes down/protocol down, then write EEM script configuring same config as of Sw-A onto Sw-B.

Once Sw-A interface is back, remove config using one more EEM script.

Can Sw-B by any method can generate a syslog that " interface on Sw-A is down" and which triggers Script on Sw-B.

How can we use IP SLA in this case. I can use icmp for tracking.

Diagram is attached.

Thanks,

Uzair

Hi

Maybe you can use this example to configure interface tracking: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/sw/5_x/nx-os/system_management/configuration/guide/sm_nx_os_cg/sm_eem_events_and_examples.html#wp1015911

If you track an IPSLA object to redirect trafic if a ping stops, wont the ping get back up when the network converges again? and then go back to the defective interface and create an infinit loop?
