Is there any monitoring tool which can be used to measure the email traffic bandwidth usage going through our WAN interface.

You could use NBAR.

nbar is not supported in all IOS versions right..i think mine does not support..

NBAR is not supported in switches. Is this the only edge device?

don't have access to edge device as it's maintatined by circuit provided.only this L3 switch 3560..

Hello,

if you want to check smtp traffic, you don't need any software. In the IOS there are some

filtering methods, so you can view only smtp flows... External software is necessary for continuos monitoring. I don't know any free widows version. There are several software with trial period for windows. You can check list of netflwo applications on our web site: http://netflow.caligare.com/applications.htm

how do i check using the IOS itself...mine is a 3560 switch and want to monitor SMTP traffic going out a particular VLAN.
